CAPITAL PROJECTS AND BUILD-TOGETHER PROGRAMME

 

 

1.  LAND USE AND POPULATION

 

At proclamation (1999) the town of Eenhana only consisted of 628erven of which 72 where business and 466residential erven. Today the town have over 2250 erven, which translates to 72%increase in erven during the past 14years of existence as a town. The 2001 Population and Housing Census estimated the population of Eenhana in the urban set up at 3200 people, the preliminary figures available today suggests that the population of Eenhana has increased by over 49%.

 

However, the catchment area is very big, because Eenhana as the Regional Administrative Capital of Ohangwena serves a population of well over 30 000 who depends on Eenhana for shopping and other services like Hospital, Home Affairs services.

 

2.  CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR 2012/2013

From phase 1 to 8 a total of 226 build together houses were completed. The current phase 9 has benefited 55 beneficiaries and construction of houses is currently underway for the houses.

 

Council even supplies water to the nearby Settlements and Villages. The council is currently in the process of conducting its own population census in with the assistance of Namibia Statistics Agency. PF
